The "Badland Rangers" is a living history group created to provide living history of the Texas Ranger Frontier Battalion, Company "D". With the blessings of the Texas Rangers and the approval of the Senior Captain and Chief of the Texas Rangers, the group was established. Along with the approval of establishing the Badland Rangers the Senior Captain also gave the group permission to wear the Battalion Ranger Badge during their presentations. The Rangers provide historical gun fights, set up a 1880s Ranger camp along with displays of weapons, saddles, Ranger photos (both old and current), posters, handcuffs and leg irons of the 1870s-1890s, a badge display, literature, and with many other items related to the Texas Rangers both past and present. The Ranger camp includes a 1890 chuck wagon which was built in Laredo, Texas, tents, and wagon gear plus cooking their meals the old cast iron way. We are still based out of Sabinal and we are still providing educational programs across the state working with the Texas Rangers and the Waco Museum. We are called on for special Texas Ranger gatherings across the state as well as requested to attend numerous events which are sponsored by all verities of organizations."
