FYI: A nice rest area is 4 miles E. of Sabinal, Texas on Highway 90. Beautiful stone buildings, covered picnic areas, wide parking and lots of light.
Stop in Sabinal for gas, groceries, shop antiques, uniques, local art and wonderful hand made furniture.
Turn north at the red light to go to Garner Sate Park, Lost Maples and Concan. Visit Brown's Gift Shop downtown. Sit at the old fashioned soda fountain for delicious lunch specials & souvenirs.
See menu of Sabinal Grill for good food. Call 830-988-2225 for take out. 314 N. Center St. (Hwy 127/187 North.)
Large live oak trees, shaded playground.
I was told by a DOT official at the dedication that "self contained RVs were allowed overnight parking". Free overnight RV parking.
